I’m keeping this review short because there’s really not much to say beyond: I highly recommend all the Murderbot Diaries books. Read them, read them now. And 2. For these bots not being “alive” they sure do have a lot of feelings and I love that for them! The way they hate feeling things and get absolutely panicked whenever someone says the “relationship” word in any context I absolutely live for. Wells has managed to make the most relatable and human bots and constructs ever and given them a level of wit and sarcasm that so perfectly pokes at the human condition in a fun, comedic way. I absolutely adore all the characters the author has created for this series. Plus, these bots make for the best parents. Not to mention who knew this book was going to have elements that all intense romance book lovers would adore? That’s all I’ll say on that matter though, because I NEED you to experience this for yourself. The subtle nuances in humor plus the “diary” aspect coming more sharply into focus in this iteration make both this book, and the entire series, one that is easy to come back to and read again and again. This series is one of my favorites, and this book is a welcome edition to all the novellas in the series, so of course it gets all 5 stars from me for all the wanted and unwanted emotions this construct gave me.
